Position Summary

The Project Manager supports the Chief Integration Officer and Deputy CIO by coordinating projects that advance integration, shared services, youth engagement, stakeholder engagement, community outreach, student recruitment, and office management. This position plays an important supporting role for the Integration Team, helping track project timelines, deliverables, and expenses; communicating with, coordinating projects, and setting meetings with sub-team members; and providing research and coordination support across a range of integration initiatives. The project manager assists the CIO and Deputy CIO to research and build out key initiatives such as youth engagement programs, access and success programs, Queens and Elon campus employee visit programs, communications across Elon and Queens campuses, and more. Part of the project manager’s role will include calendaring, budget tracking, and minor travel arrangements for the CIO. At times the Project Manager may also provide assistance to the enrollment team with recruitment of transfer students. This position is in‑person and based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1–3 years — Experience in higher education administration, project management, admissions, alumni relations, or community engagement. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with accuracy and follow‑through. Experience working with diverse stakeholders and building community relationships preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in higher education, communications, business, public relations, or a related field; Master’s degree a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace. Familiarity with CRM platforms or enrollment management systems a plus. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners. Curiosity, initiative, and a relationship‑oriented approach to work. Knowledge of Charlotte’s civic, nonprofit, and business community preferred. Familiarity with Elon or Queens programs and culture a plus.

Job Duties
  • Support the CIO and Deputy CIO on assigned projects and integration team priorities, including tracking action items and deadlines, preparing project documentation, coordinating inter‑departmental communication, and ensuring timely follow‑through on deliverables. Assist the CIO and Deputy CIO with projects and documents related to the development of integration initiatives, tracking of milestones, inter‑team communication, material and agenda preparation, and accountability for key deliverables.
  • Assist the CIO and Deputy with event planning, stakeholder outreach/engagement, employee engagement across campuses, professional development sessions, etc. Assist the Deputy CIO with Elon and Queens integration‑related events at the institutional, alumni, and community level, including listening tours, stakeholder forums, joint campus visits, alumni gatherings, professional development offerings, and signature integration events. Support event strategy, logistics, and follow‑up in collaboration with communications and advancement teams. Support relationships with alumni from both Elon and Queens, including identifying opportunities for alumni engagement in integration initiatives, supporting alumni listening sessions and events, and contributing to cultivation strategies in partnership with advancement and alumni affairs teams.
  • Support and assist the CIO by managing calendaring, meeting coordination, limited travel arrangements, budget processes/tracking, and presentation preparation as needed.
  • Conduct research and provide analytical support on topics relevant to the integration, including peer institution benchmarking, market and demographic data, program development opportunities, community partnership models, civic organizations, business partners, nonprofit entities, and community events, and partnerships in the Charlotte region. Research relevant to the integration’s engagement and visibility goals. Synthesize research findings into clear, actionable summaries for leadership.
  • Support Admissions and enrollment‑related projects for both the Elon Charlotte and Queens campuses, including assisting with recruitment events, management of prospective student communications, and logistical support for admissions initiatives. Collaborate with Admissions teams.
Special Instructions to Applicants

Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Travel required. Regular travel between Elon’s Burlington/Alamance County campus (monthly), the Queens University campus in Charlotte, and the Elon Charlotte offices. Occasional travel for professional meetings and events.
