Job summary

BRMi is seeking a Project/Program Manager to support Platform Engineering initiatives, streamline governance, and align diverse teams across risk, security, and business stakeholders in Vienna, VA.

You will lead planning, milestones, and readiness activities for modernization and decommissioning efforts, while maintaining transparency through dashboards and executive communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3–5 years of project/program management experience.
• Experience with Agile software development (Scrum/SAFe).
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide general project management support for internal Digital initiatives and external requests.
• Coordinate and manage a portfolio of Platform Engineering initiatives and modernization efforts.
• Partner with engineering, product, risk, compliance, security, and business stakeholders for alignment.
• Lead planning, tracking, and coordination for decommissioning initiatives and dependency management.
• Represent Platform Engineering in governance, risk, and compliance discussions and readiness meetings.
• Facilitate prioritization across operational, strategic, compliance, and modernization initiatives.
• Maintain visibility into commitments, risks, dependencies, and priorities; recommend mitigations.
• Drive meeting coordination, action items, decisions, and follow-ups.
• Develop executive-ready communications, dashboards, and reporting materials.
• Coordinate intake, assessment, and tracking of ad hoc requests affecting Platform Engineering.
• Monitor initiative health, milestones, and deliverables for timely execution.
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners as needed.
• Support annual planning, roadmap development, capacity planning, and cross-team dependencies.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, governance, and operational effectiveness.

Job description

• Provide general project management support for internal Digital initiatives and external requests
• Coordinate and manage a portfolio of Platform Engineering initiatives, including platform modernization, application decommissioning, operational improvements, risk remediation, security initiatives, and strategic technology efforts
• Partner with engineering leaders, architects, product teams, risk, compliance, security, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment, visibility, and timely execution
• Lead planning, tracking, and coordination for decommissioning initiatives, including dependency management, stakeholder communication, risk identification, milestone tracking, and status reporting
• Represent Platform Engineering in governance forums, risk and security reviews, compliance discussions, operational readiness meetings, and cross-functional engagements
• Facilitate prioritization discussions across operational, strategic, compliance, and modernization initiatives
• Maintain visibility into commitments, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities; elevate issues and recommend mitigation strategies
• Drive meeting coordination, action item management, decision tracking, and follow-up activities
• Develop executive-ready communications, status updates, dashboards, briefings, and reporting materials
• Coordinate intake, assessment, and tracking of ad hoc requests impacting Platform Engineering
• Monitor initiative health, milestones, and deliverables for successful and timely execution
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners as needed
• Support annual planning, roadmap development, capacity planning, and cross-team dependency management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• 3-5 years of prior experience as a project manager or program manager
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment and with the Scrum and/or SAFe frameworks
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies and services, preferably Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps and ServiceNow
• Problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills and ability to understand functional and technical system information
• Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Experience working with, participating in and leading cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
• Ability to prioritize work, manage concurrent priorities, and meet deadlines
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills with ability to present findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely
• Ability to build effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact
