  • Research, develop, and support new initiatives as directed by the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders for timely responses and coordination of services.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets to ensure responsible stewardship of resources.

Job Description

Description

  • Lead and manage department-wide curriculum and programmatic projects in collaboration with the Director of Social Studies, ensuring effective implementation, communication, monitoring, and execution across all workstreams.
  • Establish and maintain effective systems and structures for communication, implementation, monitoring, and feedback to ensure high-quality execution.
  • Promote equity in all aspects of the work so that every student has access to opportunities for growth and success through classroom instruction, co-curricular and extracurricular experiences, student enrichment opportunities, and academic competitions.
  • Lead the planning and execution of special projects to ensure coherence, alignment with district initiatives, and continuous improvement in the implementation of the district's curriculum and instructional priorities.
  • Develop and provide curricular resources that support the successful implementation of co-curricular projects and instructional initiatives.
  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate district-level professional learning and instructional programs that leverage technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Research, develop, and support the implementation of new initiatives as directed by the supervisor.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely responses to requests and effective coordination of services.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets to ensure responsible stewardship of resources and alignment with departmental priorities.
  • Ensure alignment among campus instructional programs, district curriculum, and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited university; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Five years of Social Studies teaching experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Knowledge of the educational system and current trends in education.
  • Knowledge of general financial processes.
  • Management abilities through administration of major segments of an educational institution.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills required to achieve the goals of the position.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of district’s content curriculum, national/state/local social studies standards, and district initiatives such as the district evaluation instrument for classroom teachers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps tools and applications, web-based applications, digital instructional tools for the classroom, and professional development.
  • Ability to create and facilitate professional development (asynchronous and synchronous), designing web pages, and surveys.
  • Ability to implement, present, and edit/revise written communication in all forms, resulting in products that are precise and accurate.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organization, conducting effective professional development, and best practices to improve content, knowledge, and skills.
