Job summary

MBP in Stafford, Virginia is seeking a Project Manager I to lead project management activities for K-12 and vertical building construction in governmental, commercial, and institutional sectors.

You will support senior staff by coordinating design teams and contractors, managing budgets, tracking progress, and maintaining strong client relationships while pursuing business development opportunities and professional association involvement.

Qualifications

• B.S. in an industry-related field preferred.
• Professional registration strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a team and coordinating the work of various project entities (designer, contractor, owner personnel).
• Assist in preparation, monitoring, and managing client project budgets and internal budgets.
• Analyze and optimize internal and external processes.
• Conduct site visits, identify potential engineering problems, and propose solutions and alternatives.
• Provide subject matter technical engineering support and assist in reviewing technical work of others.
• Assist in providing project management on small to mid-size projects.
• Help prepare, monitor, and manage the client's project budgets.
• Work closely with project accountant to manage multipliers, utilization forecasts, and project margins.
• Attend and participate in professional association meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations.
