Job summary

Otter Tail Power Company in Fergus Falls, MN is seeking a Project Manager I or II to lead generation-related projects from development through construction and closeout. You will manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role reports to Manager Project Management I, Development Engineering Construction and requires travel within the service area. PM II requires 5+ years of experience; PM I requires ~2+ years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• PM I: ~2+ years of project management or related experience.
• PM II: ~5+ years of project management experience, including managing multiple or complex projects.
• Experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project Execution: Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
• Safety Leadership: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture with plans and practices across teams and contractors.
• Schedule & Resource Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate workforce, and manage risks impacting timelines.
• Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage budgets and forecasts, track variances, and ensure cost control and recovery.
