Job summary

Otter Tail Power Company in Fergus Falls, MN is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer focused on transmission planning and power system operations to lead planning efforts across our transmission and distribution network. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a strong foundation in planning principles, engineering economics, and leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and experience in transmission planning or power system operations.
Knowledge of system planning principles, studies, standards, procedures, and engineering economics.
Strong communication skills and leadership abilities to guide teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a ten-year transmission plan.
Prepare supporting documentation for future transmission projects through the annual capital budgeting process.
Represent Otter Tail Power in regional transmission planning studies and stakeholder groups.
Serve as a central point of contact for MISO and SPP studies and ensure timely data requests and compliance with NERC Planning Standards.
