Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Manager I to lead complex construction initiatives with professionalism, flexibility, and resourcefulness. You will manage quality, timeliness, safety, mentor the project team, and develop strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, plus six years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum six years of related previous experience.
• Proven ability to assist with all responsibilities for complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Experience in commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, project, and web applications at an intermediate level.
• Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects.
• Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and schedules.
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices.
• Provide financials and billings to accounting, create monthly owner billings.
• Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and selections of trade partners.
• Handle billings, contract management, and change orders.
• Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback.
