Job summary

Universities of Wisconsin is seeking a Project Manager I to develop and implement project management functions for CEII at UWM. You will create project plans, track budgets and progress, and work with partners to align CEII programming with strategic goals.

The role requires strong communication, ability to lead complex projects, and coordination with senior leadership. Compensation ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 with final base depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience designing and executing administrative projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in project management software.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues.
  • Leads overall project definition, solution identification, and implementation.
  • Oversees the procurement and management of service providers and consultants that perform work related to the initiatives.
  • Engages in problem-solving and seeks out resources to address project implementation challenges.
  • Establishes measures to determine the success of projects and ensures that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Reports project status and issues to the Vice Chancellor, committees, or other relevant leadership proactively and regularly.
  • Facilitates estimation of costs, resources, and time; negotiates for resources and assigns tasks to meet targets.
  • Prepares regular reports to communicate status and develops analytic tools to track goals and progress.
  • Develops and maintains records and communicates with partners throughout the project life cycle.
