Job summary

Job Summary:

Under general direction, develops and implements project management functions associated with UWM’s Office of Community Empowerment and Institutional Inclusivity (CEII). Serves as a subject matter expert in CEII projects, creates project plans, tracks project budget and progress to completion, and works with partners to align CEII programming and funding with those plans.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues.
  • Leads overall project definition, solution identification, and implementation.
  • Oversees the procurement and management of service providers and consultants that perform work related to the initiatives.
  • Engages in problem-solving and seeks out resources to address project implementation challenges.
  • Establishes measures to determine the success of projects and ensures that all targets and requirements are met.
  • Reports project status and issues to the Vice Chancellor, committees, or other relevant leadership proactively and regularly.
  • Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met.
  • Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
    • Develops and implements analytic tools to identify and track project goals and progress.
    • Identifies, tracks, and analyzes performance metrics to identify areas of improvement.
    • Provides ongoing oversight and support to ensure that measures are being used effectively.
    • Establishes and maintains adequate recordkeeping and ensures access to all project-related records.
    • Engages in transparent communication throughout the life cycle of the project with the Vice Chancellor and other relevant partners.

    • Partners with leadership to identify, develop, communicate, and implement strategies, policies, and programs for CEII.
    • Serves as primary contact with public and private partners, to answer questions, establish partnerships, or provide reports/updates regarding projects.
    Compensation

    $75,000 - $85,000 Final compensation will be based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.


    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
    • 2 years of experience designing and executing administrative projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to this position.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Basic proficiency in project management software.
    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
    • 4 or more years of experience designing and executing large administrative projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to this position.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong proficiency in project management software.
