THE ROLE

This role drives high-impact strategic HR initiatives that advance enterprise priorities, accelerate operational transformation, and strengthen HR effectiveness.

The HR Project Manager will partner across HR and the business to define priorities, structure execution plans, and deliver scalable improvements to processes, systems, and operating models that strengthen HR effectiveness.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate is an experienced HR professional who combines disciplined project management, business acumen, and process improvement expertise to translate complex priorities into clear execution plans and successful outcomes.

As a structured problem solver, strategic thinker, and credible collaborator, the successful candidate can align stakeholders, anticipate risks, and translate enterprise priorities into practical program execution.

With a consultative, solutions-oriented mindset, the successful candidate connects the dots across HR, business, and operational priorities, synthesizes complex information, anticipate downstream impacts, and develops practical, scalable solutions that enable informed decision-making and successful execution.

Success in this role requires the ability to quickly build trusted partnerships across HR, enterprise stakeholders, and business leaders to align priorities, navigate ambiguity, influence outcomes without direct authority, and drive successful execution.

Sound judgment, executive presence, and strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity, build networks quickly, and influence outcomes across global, matrixed teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and execute integrated project and deployment plans for strategic HR priorities, with clear governance, change management, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional HR process improvement efforts that simplify operations, strengthen controls, and identify opportunities for automation, system enhancements, and AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Lead global HR system enhancement initiatives that improve the employee and manager experience while supporting scalable business growth.
  • Provide strong program leadership across cross-functional teams, influencing without direct authority, ensuring commitments are delivered, and building productive partnerships.
  • Deliver results effectively and on time while continuously improving processes and solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, with AMD managers and executives.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience leading global programs and change initiatives across HR.
  • Strong change management skills, with experience implementing large-scale projects and programs globally.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a high degree of personal integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Strong project management skills and a self-starting, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to prioritize effectively and bring structure to complex, ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a global company and across multicultural, cross-functional, and matrixed teams.
  • Experience managing projects with cross-functional, global teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering against timelines and demanding schedules.
  • Experience evaluating risks and tradeoffs and presenting solution options to executive teams.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Program management experience in a dynamic, competitive industry, particularly within an engineering-based organization.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Program management certification is a plus.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
