Job Description

Brightspeed is seeking a Project Manager, Fiber Engineering and Construction, to join our Engineering & Construction Fiber Build team. As a Project Manager, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of engineering projects, including network design, construction scheduling, implementation, and asset management. The Fiber Build program is diverse, covering Fiber Overbuild & Subsidy deployment, vendor oversight, build milestones & schedule management, Right of Way, Joint Use, permitting, process development, training & communication, and compliance.

This role is crucial within the Engineering and Construction team, managing complex, long-term projects. It offers exposure to C-suite executives and requires strong business acumen, data analytics skills, innovative thinking, adaptability in a fast-paced environment, and a desire to impact the industry broadly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor engineering and construction build plans across various network types.
• Coordinate and create work schedules to ensure timely delivery for internal teams and contractors.
• Track milestone activities for complex projects across multiple business lines.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Manage vendor performance to meet network readiness dates within budget.
• Utilize Cost Per Premise Modeling during design and revisions.
• Lead data analysis efforts with IT, business, and vendor partners.
• Provide technical support to OSP build and Operations teams.
• Address network build roadblocks related to permitting, contractual issues, or government interactions.
• Collaborate with leadership to design and implement future state processes.
• Analyze and interpret GIS and IQGeo data.
• Communicate training, job aids, and procedures to stakeholders.
• Define IT requirements for fiber design and build.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing and quality inspections on fiber builds.
• Willingness to travel periodically for meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

What it takes to catch our eye:

• 10+ years of telecommunications experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, engineering degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• Project Management Certification.
• Proficiency with PM tools (MS Project, SmartSheets, Confluence, JIRA, Service Now).
• Experience with telecom network design systems (IQGeo, GIS, SmallWorld).
• Experience with telecom facility record management tools (O2, BOSS, AMS).
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Power Apps).
• Vendor and contract management skills.
• Understanding of financial systems (Ariba, SAP, Accounts Payable).
• Ability to develop complex methods and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe, and related systems.
• Data analysis skills for strategic decision-making.
• Ability to foster cross-departmental relationships through training and accountability.

• Master's degree or related experience.
• Knowledge of NDS, TIRKS, SAP, Fireworks, BidMaster, LeaseNet, WFMT, CLM, APO, FT3, ARMOR, MARTENS, Uniqual, O2, NJUNS, SPANS, JRM.
