Location: Remote
Salary: $130-175k
Sabot Consulting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within IT consulting services, with deep familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and compliance with legislative mandates. The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate all phases of the project, ensuring compliance with established project management standards and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Project Methodology Plan outlining the project management approach, methodology, and planned objectives.
  • Schedule and lead project management meetings, including weekly status meetings, risk and issue meetings, and deliverable review meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver written Monthly and Weekly Status Reports using standard PMO templates.
  • Identify, log, and address risks, action items, issues, decisions, change requests, and lessons learned.
  • Prepare and maintain the Risk and Issue Management Plan, Risk and Issue Log, and Risk and Issue forms.
  • Conduct impact analysis for risks, issues, and change requests, ensuring accurate metrics for reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain the Master Project Schedule, ensuring alignment with the baseline timeline.
  • Track progress, analyze variances, and recommend strategies to keep the project on schedule.
  • Facilitate and track all identified project deliverables and artifacts, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain Stakeholder Management Plan, Resource Management Plan, and Communication Management Plan.
  • Manage and track stakeholder engagement and communications, keeping stakeholders apprised of project information.
  • Identify resource constraints and assist PMO as necessary to minimize impact.


Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university. Alternatively, qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 5 years of broad, extensive, and increasingly responsible experience applying project management principles, methods, techniques, and tools.
  • 3 years of experience in a lead capacity on large or complex IT projects.
  • 3 years of experience with SDLC projects, performing project management tasks involving the development and integration of multiple systems and system interfaces.
  • 3 years of experience leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is required.


Nice to Have:

  • Strong knowledge of project management standards and methodologies, including PMBOK and California Project Management Framework.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Visio, and Project.
  • 4 years of experience with knowledge of technical writing principles and state legislature operations.
  • 5 years conducting entire SDLC process with management level functions across multiple teams simultaneously.
