The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project management, strong knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall, and experience with Jira, Confluence, Asana or Trello. Remote setup allows work from anywhere in SA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience delivering digital transformation or software projects.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a proactive and innovative Project Manager to lead their digital transformation initiatives. This role is based remotely, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within South Africa, with a focus on projects impacting operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . You will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of new digital platforms, enhancing customer experience, and driving operational efficiency through technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development lifecycles, change management, and agile methodologies. You will work closely with IT, business units, and external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of digital solutions that align with strategic business goals. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital transformation projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, UX/UI designers, and QA testers.
• Implement agile methodologies to foster flexibility and rapid iteration in project development.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, implementing timely and effective mitigation strategies.
• Communicate project status, progress, and key metrics to stakeholders through regular reports and presentations.
• Facilitate user acceptance testing and ensure successful deployment of digital solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships and performance to ensure successful delivery of contracted services and products.
• Champion change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new digital tools and processes across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically managing digital transformation or software development projects.
• Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall project management methodologies.
• Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, or Trello.
• Excellent knowledge of software development processes and technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
• Must be capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in a remote setting.
