Job Title: Project Manager Development

Office Location: Houston, TX

Business Function / Department: Technology / Development

General Role Description

Lead and manage a matrix team to complete project execution within a typical cycle of 1 to 2 years.

Role Accountabilities
  1. Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure successful development project execution aligned with company objectives.
  2. Establish and meet project commitments.
  3. Recommend and implement risk assessment and mitigation plans to stay within budgets and targets.
  4. Serve as the primary contact for internal clients regarding ongoing projects.
  5. Identify, resolve, and communicate issues, escalating as necessary.
  6. Analyze and report on technology unit data to management.
  7. Provide updates on project performance, business processes, market trends, and client issues.
  8. Identify opportunities and recommend improvements for new developments, products, and services to support business growth.
  9. Initiate and execute process improvement initiatives.
  10. Maintain records of project communications, specifications, timelines, and dependent projects.
  11. Collaborate with Finance to track and analyze projects from inception to post-implementation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, finance, computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of project, engineering, or technical leadership in a technical environment.
  • Financial acumen for sound decision-making.
  • Proven ability to build successful relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal contacts.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement in responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%, often on short notice.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading matrix teams.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Oracle BI tools, including Discoverer Admin, and CRM.
  • PMI PMP Certification.
  • Experience managing research and development projects.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot tables, graphs, and VBA.
