Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for a full-time, direct hire role supporting multifamily projects. You will own schedules, budgets, scope, documentation, and client communication, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, GCs, field teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for a full-time, direct hire opportunity with an established mechanical construction company supporting multifamily projects. This role is ideal for a construction project management professional who understands mechanical systems, enjoys owning complex projects, and is comfortable serving as a trusted point of contact for clients, general contractors, field teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.


The Project Manager will lead projects from planning through completion, with responsibility for schedules, budgets, scope, documentation, communication, and overall project performance. Key Responsibilities


  • Manage multifamily mechanical construction projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations are met.

  • Coordinate project activity with general contractors, clients, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.

  • Serve as a primary client contact, providing responsive communication, project updates, issue resolution, and high-touch customer service.

  • Monitor project performance, anticipate risks, identify solutions, and keep teams aligned around milestones and client commitments.

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, budgets, change tracking, and communication records.

  • Visit active project sites approximately one week per month to support field coordination and ensure work aligns with safety and project requirements.


Compensation and Benefits


  • Employment Type: Full-time, direct hire.

  • Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

  • Target Start: Mid-September.

  • Field/Travel: Approximately one week per month.

  • Location: 90108.


Required Qualifications and Skills


  • Manage mechanical construction projects for multifamily developments from planning through completion.

  • Own project timelines, budgets, scope, documentation, stakeholder communication, and overall execution.

  • Lead coordination across clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal teams.

  • Support larger, complex projects with multiple priorities, moving parts, and client expectations.

  • 3 to 5 years of project management experience in mechanical construction, mechanical contracting, or a closely related construction environment.

  • Experience working on multifamily construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, field operations, coordination, safety awareness, and project documentation.

  • Proven ability to manage larger or complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to provide clear updates and resolve issues proactively.

  • Ability to remain organized, calm, and decisive when priorities shift or challenges arise.

  • Strong judgment, accountability, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel to project sites approximately one week per month.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience managing mechanical construction projects involving plumbing, HVAC, piping, or related building systems.

  • Prior experience working directly with general contractors on multifamily residential construction projects.

  • Familiarity with project management tools, construction documentation platforms, schedules, change orders, RFIs, and submittal processes.

  • Demonstrated success building long-term client relationships in a construction or contracting environment.
