Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and client communication to ensure projects finish safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership and proficiency with Sage 300, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam, and can coordinate with owners, GC's, engineers, and field teams to drive project success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in commercial HVAC and/or plumbing construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple HVAC and plumbing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, billing, and change orders utilizing Sage 300.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals using Bluebeam.
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, engineers, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement of equipment and materials to maintain project schedules.
  • Monitor labor productivity, project costs, and overall project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality requirements, and contract specifications.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Support field teams by resolving technical and operational issues.
  • Conduct project closeout activities including punch lists, as-builts, and final billing.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and support business development efforts when needed.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

This role requires strong leadership skills and proficiency in construction management software including Sage 300, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple HVAC and plumbing construction projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field
  • preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial HVAC and/or plumbing construction.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction processes, and project lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency with:
  • o Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate
  • o Primavera P6 Scheduling Software
  • o Bluebeam Revu
  • o Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Design-Build and negotiated projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • PMP certification or equivalent construction project management credentials.
  • Experience with estimating and preconstruction support.
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to visit active construction sites and navigate jobsite conditions.
  • Occasional lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
