Job summary

MCL Construction is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead commercial projects from kickoff to closeout in central Nebraska. Based in Kearney, you’ll manage budgets, schedules, and team alignment across owners, architects, and field staff.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record in commercial construction, 8+ years of experience with at least 3 years in a PM role, and proficiency with project management software and MS Office. GMP/CMAR exposure is a strong plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural preferred).
8+ years of commercial construction experience, with 3+ years in a Project Manager role.
Strong command of budgets, contracts, and project controls.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
Experience with GMP and CMAR delivery methods is a strong plus.

Your Day-to-Day

Lead Projects End-to-End

Take full ownership of commercial projects from kickoff through closeout.
Drive execution against schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks — no exceptions.
Anticipate risk before it becomes a problem and make decisions that protect the project.

Build and Align Your Team

Partner closely with superintendents, owners, architects, and internal teams to keep everyone moving in the same direction.
Manage contracts, cost controls, documentation, and reporting with precision.
Hold stakeholders accountable and communicate proactively — no surprises.

Grow the Business

Build and strengthen client relationships across Kearney, Grand Island, Hastings, North Platte, and the broader central Nebraska market — relationships that drive repeat work and long-term partnerships.
Represent MCL as we grow our presence in central Nebraska — help shape the reputation and culture of an office that’s just getting started.

The Right Fit

You're a Strong Fit If You

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural preferred).
8+ years of commercial construction experience, with 3+ years in a Project Manager role. Experience managing large-scale commercial construction projects a strong plus.
Strong command of budgets, contracts, and project controls.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
Experience with GMP and CMAR delivery methods is a strong plus.
