Job summary

ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies, seeks a Project Manager to lead field teams in White Plains, NY and Jersey City, NJ. You’ll drive project performance from day one, coordinating estimations, scheduling, design review, and cost reporting to deliver on time and within budget.

• Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines and re-prioritize as needed.
• Commitment to quality and integrity in dealing with clients and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee managerial and administrative aspects of a project: estimating, scheduling, quality control, reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation.
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate.
• Collaborate with owners and design team to develop preliminary concept drawings.
• Participate in owner meetings to review scope, reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.
• Oversee buyout and subcontractor selection.
• Conduct bi-weekly job-site meetings and maintain communication with leadership.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager who is passionate about the construction process to join our teams in White Plains, NY and Jersey City, NJ. At ARCO, every associate is empowered to drive their success. You’ll be responsible for project performance and profit from day one.

A Day In The Life

• Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including, estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
• Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
• Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
• Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
• Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
• Prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines to 100% completion
• Communicate openly with leadership, team members and train coops/interns
• Demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility and make sound decisions
• Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
• Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
• Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations

Necessary Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in civil or mechanical engineering (or related engineering program)
• 1-5+ years of hands-on construction experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Field Engineer or related internships
• Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
• Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines, and continually re-evaluate the project priorities
• Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes.
• Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations
