Job summary

ARCO is seeking a motivated Project Manager for its White Plains, NY and Jersey City, NJ teams, with an initial six‑month training period in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on controlling project performance, scheduling, and cost from day one, with responsibilities spanning estimating, design coordination, and client communication.

The position requires a civil/construction management background, 1–3+ years’ experience, and strong proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, construction management or mechanical engineering (or related engineering program).
  • 1–3+ years of hands-on construction experience as a Project Manager or related roles.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project aspects including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports and safety.
  • Ensure accurate project estimates and cost reporting.
  • Develop preliminary drawings with owners and design team; participate in scope review meetings.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager who is passionate about the construction process to join our teams in White Plains, NY and Jersey City, NJ. At ARCO, every associate is empowered to drive their success. You’ll be responsible for project performance and profit from day one. This position will also spend it's first 6 months training in Charlotte, NC.

A Day in the Life:
  • Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including, estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
  • Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
  • Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
  • Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
  • Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
  • Prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines to 100% completion
  • Communicate openly with leadership, team members and train coops/interns
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility and make sound decisions
  • Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
  • Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
  • Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations
Necessary Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in civil, construction management, or mechanical engineering (or related engineering program)
  • 1-3+ years of hands‑on construction experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or related internships
  • Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
  • Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines, and continually re‑evaluate the project priorities
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations

This represents typical base compensation for the role. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.

Pay Range

$90,000 - $120,000 USD
