Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies in Raleigh, NC seeks a Project Manager to oversee design-build projects from estimation through delivery. You will coordinate with owners and the design team to develop concepts, manage schedules, budgets, and subcontractor buyouts while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires 1–3+ years of PM experience in commercial construction, strong documentation, and proficient MS Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Civil/Mechanical/Engineering or Construction Management with a 3.0 GPA.
  • 1–3+ years of hands-on construction experience as PM, asst. PM, field engineer, or related internships.
  • Commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee managerial and administrative aspects of a project: estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal prep.
  • Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate.
  • Work with owners and design team to develop preliminary concept drawings.
  • Lead the proposal meeting to review scope, reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.
  • Oversee buyout and subcontractor selection.
  • Conduct bi-weekly on-site meetings and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Train coops/interns and communicate with leadership and team.

A Day In The Life
  • Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including, estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
  • Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
  • Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
  • Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
  • Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
  • Prioritize numerous tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines to 100% completion
  • Communicate openly with leadership, team members and train coops/interns
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility and make sound decisions
  • Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
  • Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
  • Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations

Necessary Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Civil, Mechanical, or Engineering related and/or Construction Management; with minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • 1-3+ years' of hands-on construction experience as a project manager, assistant project manager, field engineer or related internships.
  • Commercial construction experience is preferred
  • Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
