Ideal Mechanical, a division of Pieper Electric, is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead commercial HVAC and Plumbing construction projects. In this key role, you’ll oversee the successful execution of projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction. You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, and partners—while also helping to grow our presence in the region and mentoring future talent.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage multiple construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Oversee project P&L, billing, forecasting, and collections.
  • Drive proactive communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, build lasting relationships, and foster repeat business.
  • Manage change orders and project documentation with attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Develop manpower schedules and coordinate workforce deployment effectively.
  • Support and model a strong safety culture throughout project execution.
  • Coach and mentor project team members; provide regular performance feedback and contribute to employee development.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Uphold company values, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing commercial HVAC and/or plumbing construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and project forecasting.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

  • Comfortable navigating and resolving project-related challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science in engineering or construction management-related degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in commercial mechanical construction.
  • Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and budget processes.
  • Individual must be self-motivated, able to work independently, meet deadlines and budgets, work on multiple jobs simultaneously, and fulfill all job requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Proven ability to manage risk & profitability successfully.
  • Positive Safety Attitude / High Personal Integrity – both are non-negotiable.
  • Must be highly customer-service oriented; ability to create new and maintain current customer satisfaction.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel as well as general software and office technology
