AlphaGov in Detroit is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, procurement, field coordination, financial performance, and client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of PM experience with a self-performing electrical contractor and a strong knowledge of electrical systems, field operations, and project financials.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
• Experience working for a self-performing commercial electrical contractor is required.
• Proven experience managing commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, labor planning, forecasting, billing, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
• Monitor project financial performance, including labor productivity, billing, change orders, forecasting, and profitability.
• Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and other construction documents.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, commissioning, closeout, and project turnover.
• Coordinate project handoffs between estimating, preconstruction, and project management teams.
• Work closely with BIM/VDC teams on constructability, coordination, and installation planning.
• Lead project meetings and communicate project status to owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and leadership.
• Identify and resolve scheduling, budget, procurement, and field-related issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Ensure projects meet contractual, quality, safety, and company standards.

Requirements

• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, labor planning, forecasting, billing, and profitability
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
• Experience working with estimating, preconstruction, and BIM/VDC teams
• Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with healthcare, hospital, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or other complex commercial projects is preferred
