Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience.
  • 2+ years with a commercial electrical contractor.
  • Proven experience managing commercial electrical construction projects.

Job description

Our company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of commercial electrical construction projects. This role serves as the primary representative for the administrative, financial, and technical management of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in commercial electrical construction, outstanding leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of responsibility for the overall administrative and technical management of electrical construction projects.
  • Lead projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout.
  • Partner closely with Preconstruction, Estimating, Operations, Owners, Architects, Engineers, Vendors, and Subcontractors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Review owner contracts and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Identify potential cost impacts and proactively manage project risk.
  • Prepare and manage owner and subcontractor change orders.
  • Prepare monthly owner pay applications and requisitions.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews and analyze project financial performance.
  • Evaluate subcontractor financial capability and performance.
Scheduling & Planning
  • Develop and manage master project schedules.
  • Create and maintain look-ahead schedules to support field execution.
  • Identify critical milestones, potential delays, and recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to align with project schedules and deliverables.
Quality & Safety Leadership
  • Ensure company quality control standards are implemented and maintained throughout project execution.
  • Integrate safety planning into all phases of project management.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all subcontractors and vendors meet project requirements prior to mobilization.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, design teams, and trade partners.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering efforts.
  • Resolve project challenges through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Maintain exceptional client satisfaction throughout the life of the project.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of technical training and relevant construction experience
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working for a commercial electrical contractor
  • Proven experience managing commercial electrical construction projects
Technical Skills
  • Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
