Job summary

AlphaHire seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial and industrial electrical construction projects in the Houston area. You will manage project teams, schedules, budgets, procurement, field coordination, financial performance, and client relationships.

The role requires a proven track record with a commercial electrical contractor, overseeing projects from startup through closeout and coordinating a wide range of stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
• Proven ability to manage commercial and industrial electrical construction from startup to closeout.
• Strong leadership, scheduling, budgeting, and client relationship skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating office and field teams across project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion and final closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and execution strategies.
• Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting, labor productivity, billing, cost control, and profitability.
• Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and project documentation.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, procurement, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate material and equipment procurement to maintain schedules and minimize delays.
• Work closely with field teams to resolve installation, coordination, scheduling, and resource issues.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to owners, general contractors, clients, and company leadership.
• Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to minimize schedule delays, cost impacts, and field issues.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
• Ensure projects comply with contractual requirements, company standards, quality expectations, and applicable safety regulations.
• Support commissioning, punch-list completion, project turnover, warranty requirements, and final closeout.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, and project partners.

• Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, scheduling, procurement, and field operations.
• Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, subcontractors, billing, change orders, and cost control.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating office and field teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Residential-only electrical project management experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
