AlphaGov in Detroit is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead complex electrical construction projects from planning through turnover. The ideal candidate will manage project finances, schedules, field teams, and client relationships on self-performing commercial electrical work.

Responsibilities include budgeting, procurement planning, staffing, cost forecasting, and coordinating multiple stakeholders to ensure safe, on-time delivery of large-scale projects.

Formación

• 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
• Experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor.
• Proven ability to manage commercial electrical projects from planning through completion.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installations, construction sequencing, field supervision.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement, and change orders.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee electrical projects from budgeting and planning through installation and turnover.

• Coordinate superintendents, foremen, electricians, vendors, subcontractors, and GC's.
• Review contracts, drawings, and specs to confirm requirements and conflicts.

We're seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to lead complex electrical construction projects from planning through final turnover. The ideal candidate has experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor and can manage project finances, schedules, field teams, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical construction projects from budgeting and planning through installation, commissioning, and final turnover
• Develop project schedules, procurement plans, staffing requirements, and cost forecasts to ensure timely and profitable delivery
• Coordinate superintendents, foremen, electricians, vendors, subcontractors, and general contractors
• Review contracts, electrical drawings, and technical specifications to confirm project requirements and identify conflicts
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, material procurement, billing, and project documentation
• Monitor job costs, labor productivity, cash flow, and budget variances, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Collaborate with estimating, preconstruction, BIM/VDC, and field teams to align design, pricing, and construction activities
• Resolve design conflicts, installation challenges, material delays, and scheduling issues before they affect project delivery
• Lead project meetings and maintain communication with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, workmanship standards, and jobsite safety procedures

Requirements

• 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor
• Required: Previous experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor
• Proven ability to manage commercial electrical projects from initial planning through completion
• Strong knowledge of electrical installations, construction sequencing, field supervision, and commercial building systems
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, procurement, workforce allocation, cost forecasting, billing, and change ordersAbility to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction schedules
• Experience coordinating preconstruction, estimating, BIM/VDC, and field operations
• Knowledge of electrical labor productivity, material costs, and project financial controls
• Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, industrial facilities, or other complex commercial projects preferred
