Job summary

Trevett Facilities Recruitment is seeking a Construction Project Manager for a national industrial real estate and redevelopment organization, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role oversees a portfolio of capital improvement, redevelopment and modernization projects across large commercial and industrial facilities, acting as owner’s representative and project lead from planning through closeout.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in construction management, engineering or project management.
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules and contractor coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple industrial redevelopment and capital improvement projects simultaneously.
  • Lead projects from initial planning and scope development through construction completion.
  • Develop project scopes and obtain competitive contractor bids.
  • Evaluate proposals and support contractor selection.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules and CapEx spending.
  • Coordinate general contractors, subcontractors, consultants and multiple construction trades.
  • Review contractor invoices, change orders and project documentation.
  • Conduct site visits and project inspections.
  • Resolve field issues, construction conflicts and coordination challenges.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, budgets and risks.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
  • Provide regular project updates to leadership and internal stakeholders.

We are supporting a national industrial real estate and redevelopment organization in the search for a Construction Project Manager based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This role will oversee a portfolio of capital improvement, redevelopment and modernization projects across large commercial and industrial facilities. The Project Manager will act as the owner’s representative and project lead, managing projects from initial planning and scope development through contractor bidding, budgeting, construction delivery and closeout.

The successful candidate will typically manage 8–10 active projects simultaneously, often representing several million dollars in annual construction activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple industrial redevelopment and capital improvement projects simultaneously
  • Lead projects from initial planning and scope development through construction completion
  • Develop project scopes and obtain competitive contractor bids
  • Evaluate proposals and support contractor selection
  • Manage project budgets, schedules and CapEx spending
  • Coordinate general contractors, subcontractors, consultants and multiple construction trades

  • Adaptive reuse and modernization of existing industrial facilities
Qualifications
Required:
  • 3–5 years of experience in construction management, engineering or project management
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial construction projects
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules and contractor coordination
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
Preferred:
  • Experience with industrial facilities or capital improvement projects
  • Contractor bidding and procurement experience
  • Construction estimating and budgeting experience
  • Commercial electrical construction experience
  • Background with a commercial general contractor, engineering firm or construction consultancy
Work Location & Travel

This position is based full-time in the Milwaukee office. The Project Manager is expected to work from the office daily when not visiting project sites.

Periodic travel to projects across the national portfolio is required, estimated at up to 25% of the time.
