Job description

At CosciaMoos, we embrace a client-centered, solution-based design approach where creativity thrives within the boundaries of constraints. Our team balances innovative thinking, creative excellence, and technical precision to deliver spaces that are not only environmentally responsive but also embody simplicity and clarity in their solutions. Through effective curiosity and a deep understanding of people and place, we craft meaningful, exceptional spaces that elevate the experience of those who inhabit them.

Since our founding in 2010, we have grown in both size and experience, strengthening our foundation of design excellence paired with technical expertise. Our approach is built on a client-centric culture, engaging on a personal level, and delivering projects through a collaborative process. We find appropriate solutions for the problem at hand by asking the right questions and listening intently. From maximizing modest budgets to navigating tight site constraints, we transform complex challenges into opportunities, balancing diverse priorities to design flexible, strategic spaces that inspire and deliver lasting value for our clients.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, licensed architect to serve as Project Manager across a diverse portfolio of projects, including multifamily housing, hospitality, laboratory, and commercial work. This is a senior-level position for a self-directed professional who combines strong project management capabilities with sound architectural judgment, design sensibility, and creative problem-solving skills.

Beyond managing projects through design and construction, the successful candidate will participate in feasibility studies, programming, conceptual design, and the evaluation of potential development opportunities. We value architects who enjoy engaging in the design process, exploring alternative solutions, and helping clients make informed decisions during the earliest stages of a project.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading project teams, building lasting client relationships, and delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget, while contributing to the firm’s collaborative design culture and long-term growth.

CosciaMoos maintains an in-office culture (max 1 day/week remote), as we believe the best work is achieved in a collaborative physical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across all phases.
  • Serve as primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication throughout each project lifecycle
  • Lead and coordinate internal project teams, subconsultants, and contractors
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans; identify and address issues proactively
  • Engage quality control across deliverables at all project phases
  • Participate in business development efforts including proposal writing, client presentations, and fee negotiation
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative office culture
  • Navigate applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and agency approval processes, in collaboration with other team members.
  • Lead and participate in architectural feasibility studies, including the evaluation of existing buildings, potential sites, zoning constraints, building programs, and development alternatives.
  • Contribute to programming, conceptual design, space planning, and other early-stage design efforts, working collaboratively with firm leadership and project teams.
  • Evaluate alternative design approaches and develop creative, practical solutions that balance client objectives, project economics, regulatory requirements, and architectural quality.
