William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is hiring for an experienced Project Manager to support our heavy heavy civil projects at our Rockford, IL office.

Location & Travel Details: You can be based in any city or state in the United States. This is a traveling position, up to 75% of the time, encompassing work sites in the assigned project area (Missouri, Indiana, Illinois). You have the potential to be placed on a project site located in any state throughout the US. We offer designated per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses. This position includes one longer weekend every four weeks for additional time at home. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Partner with safety to ensure safety programs are established and executed
• Financial monitoring and reporting including cost monitoring, cost and revenue projections, change order logs, under/over billing reports, invoicing, vendor and subcontractor invoicing review and approval
• Work with project superintendents to identity applicable equipment types, personnel skill sets, means, methods, and schedule as required
• Manage and update receiving and yield reports
• Maintain cost accounting, schedule impacts, fully authorized change order logs, and communication logs
• Submit monthly cost to complete projections
• Weekly quantities reported and complied in ViewPoint
• Keep change order log up to date
• Subcontract committed costs tracking
• Estimating review to understand strategies, risks, and opportunities
• Pre-construction planning with project team
• Review and procure any permits or licensing required
• Sub-contractor scope and schedule review
• Project closeout including final documentation, invoicing, retainage release
• Building relationships in local marketplaces
• Interaction with project ream, business leaders, and management
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred)
• At least 5 years industry experience, overseeing civil construction projects
• A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience working on heavy civil, earthwork, underground utilities, DOT and/or rail projects is required
• Previous experience with Procore, Build2Win, and/or P6 a plus
• Ability to read and understand of contracts
• Strong analytical skills
• Detail oriented and good organization skills
• Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally
• Proficient in Computer applications such as Microsoft and time reporting systems
• Functional knowledge of job cost accounting
• Thorough understanding of CPM scheduling
