Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a project manager to coordinate design, construction and occupancy for capital projects in the healthcare environment, including the Hospital and Clinics for projects $100,000 and up. You will deliver projects on time and within budget and coordinate occupancy with other project participants and healthcare stakeholders, keeping patient safety as the top priority.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science, Architecture, Construction Management or related field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science, Architecture Construction Management or related field.
• Five years of related experience required.
• Experience in Healthcare Construction preferred.
• CHC certification by the American Society for Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) preferred.

Schedule: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Job Description

To coordinate and manage design, construction and occupancy activities for construction/renovation projects in the Healthcare environment including the Hospital and Clinics for Capital projects ($100,000 and up). To deliver assigned projects under budget and on time and to coordinate the operationalization and occupancy of the completed projects with other project participants and Healthcare stakeholders while maintaining Patient Safety as the top priority.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science, Architecture Construction Management or related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Experience in Healthcare Construction is preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Certified Healthcare Construction (CHC) certification by the American Society for Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) preferred.
