Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager in the United States to ensure capital improvement projects meet client requirements and business goals by developing project plans, managing cross‑functional teams, and coordinating activities within established timelines.

You will oversee all project phases from planning through validation, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant equivalent experience in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or similar discipline.
  • 7-10 years of Project management expertise.
  • Project experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, laboratories wanted.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Project Sponsor in the development of the business case, defining the project scope, benefits, and objectives.
  • Responsible for day‑to‑day management and deliverable completion of engineering and construction aspects within an agreed budget.
  • Coordinate stakeholder management, benefits management, and project communications.
  • Define contract strategy and coordinate contractors and suppliers to align with project specs.
  • Chairs summary project meetings and ensures key specialist meetings are held.

Role description

As a Project Manager, you will ensure that capital improvement projects adhere to client requirements and business goals by developing and driving project plans, managing cross‑functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines set forth by the client. You will be responsible for all project phases: planning, design/preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning and validation.

Role accountabilities
  • Supports the Project Sponsor in the development of the business case, defining the project scope, benefits, and objectives
  • Responsible for the day‑to‑day management and deliverable completion of the engineering and construction aspects of the project, using agreed resources, by an agreed date to agreed safety standards and an agreed quality within an agreed budget
  • Responsible for co‑ordination, scheduling and reporting of activities related to stakeholder management, benefits management, business change management and project communications
  • Responsible for appointment and ensuring each Project Implementation Team member’s full involvement during the development of the project
  • Has overall financial responsibility for managing the project within the approved funds
  • Responsible for coordinating activities related to the application for and approval of statutory local authority Planning Approvals required for the project
  • Managing work to follow state, local, and Federal requirements
  • Ensures that all appropriate technical standards are applied during the project implementation
  • Monitors, controls and reports on project progress on a regular basis and when exceptional circumstances arise
  • Responsible for coordinating design reviews and approvals between owner and contractors
  • Ensure that owner’s safety, security and fire protection regulations are clearly understood and adhered to, and control the property and premises until hand‑over
  • In consultation with procurement, has the responsibility for the definition of the contract strategy, and the selection and coordination of contractors and suppliers and ensures that the execution of the project is in accordance with contract and the job specification
  • Chairs summary project meetings and ensures all other necessary specialist meetings are held as required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant equivalent experience in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or similar discipline
  • 7-10 years of Project management expertise
  • Project experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, laboratories wanted
Benefits and Compensation

Salary range for this position is $86,000 - $146,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location. Arcadis offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k), Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
