Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Columbus, OH is hiring a Project Manager to oversee multiple building automation projects across central Ohio. You will manage schedules, budgets, safety, and subcontractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery for hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities.

Ideal candidates have HVAC controls project management experience, ability to read MEP drawings, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience managing HVAC controls projects and strong scheduling ability.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, specs, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office proficiency.
• High school diploma; valid driver's license; US work authorization.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in mechanical/electrical engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and gain acceptance of shop drawings, data sheets, and system docs.

• Contract subcontractors and coordinate activities with the project scope and budget.
• Conduct orientations for project technicians with scope, drawings, and contacts.
• Diligently track resources, schedule impacts, and pursue change orders.
• Coordinate billing with accounting and close-out documentation.

Project Managers coordinate and deliver multiple, simultaneous building automation projects of various complexities, which contributes to creating safer environments in critical institutions such as hospitals, universities, and industrial facilities. As a Project Manager, y our fiscal and managerial oversight across all project facets ensures client satisfaction, effective resource allocation, and safe, timely completion of projects.

As a Project Manager , you will:

• Evaluate project specifications, drawings, and related documents to understand project intentions, establishing comprehensive project schedules in coordination with the team while identifying crucial installation timelines
• Own fiscal and managerial oversight for assigned projects, driving financial performance, operational execution, and overall project success
• Ensure all project safety requirements are defined, communicated, and upheld throughout execution, including compliance with Siemens standards, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety plans
• Accountable for the preparation, coordination, and gaining acceptance of all engineered submittals (e.g., shop drawings, data sheets, and system documentation), ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, technical standards, and project specifications, while managing review cycles and integrating approved designs into project execution.
• Oversee the procurement of supplies and materials required for project completion, and actively participate in project cost reviews to ensure financial efficiency
• Responsible for contracting subcontractors, coordinating their activities to align with the project scope, schedules, and fiscal requirements while ensuring adherence to safety regulations
• Conduct orientations for project technicians, providing all necessary project documentation such as scope of work, technical drawings, project contacts, and application-engineered diagrams
• Diligently track project resources and progress, documenting any events impacting the schedule, scope, and overall efficiency; identify and pursue opportunities for project-specific change orders
• Manage project-specific billing coordination with the accounting team and Operations Manager, schedule commissioning resources, expedite the return of mark-ups for as-built development, and ensure timely completion of project-specific close-out documentation

Basic Qualifications:

• On-the-job experience with:
• Project management in the HVAC controls industry OR similar experience
• HVAC industry applications; Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications, and electrical, network, and control wiring diagrams; prior exposure to industry-standard communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, and BACnet
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• High School Diploma or state-recognized GED
• Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations ; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering D egree preferred
• 5+ years project management experience in the HVAC controls industry

The pay range for this position is $68,830 - $117,994 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
