Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Johnston, IA seeks an experienced Project Executive to manage Hyper-scale Data Center Electrical Services projects, leading planning, execution, and customer communications for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Must have PMI Project Management Professional certification (or be an internal candidate)
  • Site commissioning experience on Hyper-scale Data Center sites
  • 8+ years of experience in installation, maintenance, engineering of LV/MV power distribution with at least 8 years in project management
  • Fluent verbal and written English
  • Valid driver’s license and be at least 21; eligible for Siemens fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Travel approximately 25% as required for projects

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company as the main contact for the customer, subcontractors, and site trades
  • Develop schedules and plans to deliver contract deliverables
  • Communicate regularly with customers through all phases of the project deliverable
  • Responsible for the project financials, including project billing schedule
  • Maintain Change Orders and RFIs logs
  • Identify potential problems and address proactively
  • Develop cohesive project teams within a matrix organization
  • Support proposal efforts with cost-effective execution models
  • Oversee monthly financials and cost-to-complete reviews, invoicing and collections
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory laws

Project Executives

manage our Hyper-scale Data Center Electrical Services project portfolio. In this role, projects are managed in alignment with established Project Management policies, guidelines, programs, and standards. Responsibilities include delivering on all critical phase gates of a program, ensuring high-quality deliverables throughout the process. Additionally, oversight of project definition, control, and reporting is required, with essential updates provided to management to keep them informed on progress and outcomes. The position also involves supervising, directing, and motivating the project team during planning, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, turnover, and warranty phases of assigned projects, while ensuring customer satisfaction throughout and at the completion of each project. Projects typically consist of:

  • Low- and Medium-Voltage Acceptance Testing
  • Preventive Maintenance
  • Repairs and Upgrades
  • Large Turnkey Projects
As a Project Executive, you will:
  • Represent the company as the main point of contact for the customer, subcontractors, and site trades
  • Understand the contract deliverables and develop necessary schedule and plans for delivering them
  • Communicate regularly with customers through all phases of the project deliverable
  • Responsible for the project financials, including project billing schedule
  • Maintain project Change Orders and Request for Information Logs
  • Identify potential problems and proactively address
  • Develop cohesive and effective project teams while working in a matrix organization.
  • Support of project proposal efforts. This includes identifying deliverables and commercial issues by reviewing RFP / contract specifications and working with the engineering team on a cost-effective execution model.
  • Responsible for all project activities including monthly financial and labor forecasting, monthly cost-to-complete reviews, and invoicing and collections for assigned projects
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory laws, changes and requirements and ensure compliance
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Siemens internal candidates are to be PM@Siemens PM Certified
  • Site commissioning experience on Hyper-scale Data Center sites
  • 8+ years of experience in the installation, maintenance, engineering, of low and medium-voltage power distribution systems as noted in the position overview including at least 8 years of project management experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate:
    • Ability to discuss project schedules. This includes being proficient in the use of MS Project
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point
    • Ability to discuss project financials in detail
    • Ability to discuss confrontational issues (ex. claims, delays, etc.) with customer
    • Organizational skills: must be able to handle multiple tasks and duties effectively
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and be at least 21 years old; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
  • Travel approximately 25% as required for projects

The pay range for this position is $102,459 - $219,586 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
