Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s San Jose office seeks a Project Manager with 8+ years of aviation experience to lead aviation projects. This is not a remote role and requires a California PE license or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.

The candidate will manage design, permitting, and construction coordination while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include preparing analysis reports, monitoring budgets and schedules, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of aviation engineering design experience.
  • California P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating.
  • Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and Engineering Briefs.
  • Familiarity with pavement design and FAAR Field Design Software.
  • Strong client engagement and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation experience.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and work in a team.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's San Jose office is seeking a Project Manager with 8+ years of experience managing Aviation projects to join their Aviation team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction

  • In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects

  • Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others

  • Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules

  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects

  • You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships

  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of aviation engineering design experience

  • California Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)

  • Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating

Salary Range

$140,000 to $180,000
