Job summary

Kimley-Horn's San Jose office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join our Aviation team. This role focuses on developing detailed plans for aviation projects and supporting design production.

You will work with project managers and engineers, perform analyses and calculations, and assist in permitting and production timelines. A Bachelor's in Civil Engineering is required, and a PE is preferred but not mandatory; AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required; PE license is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on aviation-related projects (airfields, runways, taxiways, terminals, etc.).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software tools.
  • Understanding of FAA and aviation-related design standards and regulations.
  • Technical aptitude and detail-oriented mindset for production-focused work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

$105,000 to $125,000
