Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead and grow its Aviation practice, expanding client relationships and delivering airport projects.

You will oversee planning, design and construction, manage teams, and mentor staff while driving profitable work and business development. Autonomy to lead, with strong bonus potential and ownership opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing airport design and construction projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Transportation/aviation planning (landside required, airside a plus).
  • Experience with InDesign, CAD, or similar for graphics/visuals.
  • Business development and marketing: proposals, scopes of work, budgeting.
  • Excellent communication at all levels of the organization.
  • Simulation modeling experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, directing resources positively.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Aviation practice in Fort Lauderdale!

Responsibilities
  • The qualified individual will lead and expand an Aviation team and practice while building and managing relationships with key clients
  • Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction
  • Work includes airports and some seaports, focused on vehicles, roadways, and traffic flow outside terminals
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Traffic analysis and planning (landside)
    • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
    • Develop reports, large documents, and presentations
    • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
    • Having open communication with your partners and team
  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership
