Job summary

You will manage mechanical and electrical installations across automotive production environments and work with engineering and sales to grow the business.

The role requires strong planning, estimating, cost control, vendor coordination, and leadership of small teams.

Qualifications

• Experience managing mechanical and electrical engineering projects, mainly installations of production equipment.
• Strong commercial and PM skills: negotiating, planning, estimating, costing, and quoting.
• Strong IT (MS Office) and numeracy skills.
• Experience managing a small team and coordinating internal labor resources and sub-contractors.
• Knowledge of current H&S legislation & Risk Management processes.
• Good financial skills including cost and budgetary controls.
• PM qualification or training.
• Ability to secure a contractor’s license for the company.
• Excellent written and verbal communication at technical levels.
• Able to explain technical concepts simply.
• Solution oriented; able to work under pressure; able to persuade others.
• Excellent time management; prioritize multiple tasks.
• Able to build strong business relationships with key clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage jobsites for installations/relocations.
• Plan, control and monitor projects.
• Prepare project reports to Operations Manager.
• Maintain records and documentation.
• Produce estimates for change orders.
• Liaise between client site and Operations Manager; record meeting minutes.
• Achieve high profit levels through contract management and cost tracking.
• Report performance and identify risks and variations.
• Develop relationships with client and users.
• Ensure safety and quality systems are followed.
• Maintain non-conformance and punch-list records.
• Receive and document vendor goods.
• On-board and train site workers.
• Enable effective communication.
• Assist in redefining and improving on-site controls and standards.
