Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead capital projects across pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial sectors. You will collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions from concept through startup.

The role emphasizes cross-discipline coordination, design leadership, and effective client communications, with readiness to travel for project requirements. This is a full-time on-site position in our Raleigh area offices.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of project management and engineering experience executing capital projects including design development, coordination and cost control.
• Experience with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device projects (preferred).
• Broad knowledge across civil/site, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical disciplines.
• Bachelor of Science in mechanical, civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
• PE licensure or RA licensure (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage facility MEP design build and design/bid/build projects for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial operations.
• Lead project execution and design through the entire project life cycle, from concept to construction to start-up activities
• Oversee the preparation of plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Manage project timelines, budgets, scopes, changes, and risk
• Coordinate with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs); ensure compliance with building codes
• Interface with the construction manager and site manager to resolve design coordination and constructability issues; assist with value engineering efforts
• Prepare proposals and participate in sales presentations
• Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
