Job Description

Primary Responsibilities


  • Provide customers / subcontractors and customer suppliers with a single point-of-contact and assume the role of communications coordinator for assigned major projects, which includes coordinating within the various departments.

  • Assure preparation of customer documents and project drawings are completed as required by the contract.

  • Represent Company at customer / subcontractor coordination status meetings.

  • Monitor all activities to assure costs and gross margins are met.

  • Track and control the major components of project cost.

  • Take responsibility for the overall project schedule.

  • Follow administrative procedures as necessary to assure the success of the project.

  • Negotiate settlement of all claims associated with the project.

  • Monitor all project activities, report progress against plans and take corrective action as required to meet plans.

  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.


Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities


  • Identifies the repair requirements and defines the work scope.

  • Reviews technical documentation, drawings, inspection reports, and OEM guidelines.

  • Develops repair plans, timelines, and cost estimates.

  • Coordinates with engineering, quality, and operations to validate the repair strategy.


Customer Communication & Coordination


  • Serves as the primary point of contact for customers regarding repair work.

  • Provides repair recommendations, explains technical details, and manages expectations.

  • Issues regular progress updates, change orders, and approvals.

  • Ensures customer requirements are fully captured and executed.


Execution & Workflow Management


  • Schedules and oversees repair activities from start to finish.

  • Coordinates with shop leads, technicians, welders, machinists, inspectors, and vendors.

  • Ensures the team has required materials, tools, and documentation.

  • Tracks project progress, resolves delays, and ensures work follows the approved plan.


Cost, Budget & Documentation Control


  • Prepares repair estimates and final repair packages.

  • Manages project budgets and monitors actual vs. planned costs.

  • Reviews quotations, purchase orders, and subcontractor costs.

  • Ensures proper documentation, including inspection reports, repair logs, and signoffs.


Quality, Compliance & Safety Oversight


  • Ensures all repair work meets engineering standards, customer specs, and industry codes.

  • Coordinates NDT, pressure testing, quality inspections, and final acceptance checks.


Education & Experience Qualifications


  • Demonstrated application of project management principles and practices, preferably aligned with PMI standards.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related discipline preferred.

  • Managing budgets and cost controls within assigned projects

  • Experience with drilling equipment, pressure control equipment, or related oilfield products preferred.

  • Microsoft Project

  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE, IFS)

  • Techncial experience with NOV drilling or pressure control products

  • Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including API, DNV, ABS, and NORSOK.
