Job summary

COOLSOFT is seeking a Project Manager to lead agile, high-visibility IT initiatives for the EPMO in Lansing, MI. Hybrid on-site schedule, two days per week, with candidates located within 90 miles of Lansing.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and extensive experience in project management, Agile methods, and vendor management. PMP certification is highly desired. Start date is 11/9/2026 with a 11-month contract ending 09/30/2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of professional experience as a project manager for IT software or infrastructure projects with 50+ team members.
• Advanced experience with Agile projects.
• Advanced experience managing scope, schedule, and project budget.
• Advanced experience with vendor management.
• Experience writing or participating in development of SOWs, RFPs or contracts.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• PMP certification is highly desired.

Description:

This position provides oversight, leadership, accountability, and project management functions for large strategic and complex projects supporting Department of Information, Technology, and Budget (DTMB-MB) with high visibility at the Agency Executive level. These projects typically have a large diverse set of stakeholders, utilize vendor participation, require coordination of multiple stakeholders, complex schedules, and significant integration with other systems.

Advanced experience managing complex projects, a significant degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
