Job summary

RTX is seeking a driven Project Manager to plan and execute repair capability deployment programs in support of Aftermarket Services. You will manage capital investments, develop robust business cases, and forecast costs across global centers.

The role requires strong leadership within a matrixed organization and experience with SAP and BW data sources. Travel to domestic and international locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience working with matrixed and cross‑functional teams or having prior leadership experience.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft tools (Excel, Word and Power Point).

This position is for a professional that is able to work effectively within a matrixed organization and is responsible for the planning and execution of repair capability deployment projects and product modification programs in support of Aftermarket Services business objectives. This includes SFP/AOP planning, development of business cases and project plans, capacity forecasting, capability planning, test equipment acquisition, and repair capability deployment. The role is responsible for project performance including scope, schedule and cost, risk mitigation, monthly capital and expense forecasting to Finance, and for maintaining capital expenditures within plan. Typical projects include Test Equipment/Repair Capability deployments supporting our global network of Aftermarket Services locations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Works on multiple and complex technical assignments that require expertise in resource management, risk management, and project management. Achieves objectives through influence and negotiation in cross‑functional matrix organization. Works under minimum supervision with broad task assignments. Accountable for the successful implementation of multiple projects and may manage up to $3M-$5M in capital investments. Collects, analyzes, and submits capital cost and schedule inputs into the SFP and AOP planning process. This includes working with the various teams throughout the organization to determine business cases for new capability deployments and repair capability expansions. Researches, prepares, and processes eCARs to provide new, expansion, or replacement equipment and test/repair capabilities to Aftermarket Service Centers. Ensures repair capability is established in accordance with customer requirements. Develops project plans specifying charter, scope, schedule, cost, resources, and risk mitigation for each project. Manages the procurement, check‑out, delivery, and set up of equipment while supporting documentation, software, publications, training, and provisioning in accordance with established schedules. Work with Customer Service and Value Stream Leaders on product modification and new aircraft development programs (Red Label) to ensure that required service center capabilities are available to support external customers. Builds relationships with Engineering, Test Engineering, Product Support, Product Line Management, Program Management, Publications & Training, Service Center Management, Value Stream Leadership, and Aftermarket Services Leadership to ensure projects can be successfully executed. Provides monthly project schedule charts for new product capabilities and expansions to Leadership. Provides monthly forecasting of capital spend and expense by project to finance. Periodic travel may be required to domestic and international Aftermarket Services locations.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent written and oral communications skills in order to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Knowledge and understanding of critical path, problem solving, and root cause analysis. Prior experience handling multiple priorities simultaneously. Knowledge and understanding of general business practices, including accounting and finance. Experience with SAP and proficiency in gathering data from BW (and other sources), summarizing, and draw conclusions needed to make business decisions.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
