Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead the commercial wheel and brake engineering portfolio. You will coordinate project plans, timelines and budgets, liaising with OE customers and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a STEM background with extensive project management or an advanced degree plus years of experience, plus strong communication and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years.
  • Experience in project management and in customer-facing roles (5+ years).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning, execution and tracking of engineering activities and budgets to meet timelines.
  • Support the Commercial wheel & brake product development and lifecycle processes.
  • Lead projects to closure and provide status updates to leadership.
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation plans and drive mitigations with the technical team.

The Commercial Project Engineering group is responsible for supporting the commercial wheel and brake portfolio through the full life cycle of the aircraft. Beginning with design and development, through production support, and in-service sustainment, the commercial project engineering team is the main point of contact for coordination with the OE customer. As the engineering Integrated Project Team leader, the Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating and executing project plans to ensure continued support of the commercial wheel and brake portfolio.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage the planning, execution and tracking/reporting of engineering activities including project budgets related to commercial W&B products in a timely manner to meet internal and external customer timelines.
  • Support the Commercial project engineering team in the product development process
  • Lead and drive assigned engineering projects and actions to closure in a timely fashion while providing updates to the wider organization.
  • Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive the mitigations to closure with assistance the supporting technical team.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for coordination with the OE customer
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
  • Previous project management experience and experience in a customer facing role 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite(Word, Excel, etc.)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
