Location: Vienna, VA - 100% Onsite

Clearance Requirements: None

Position Status: Contract

Pay Rate: $60 - $70 per hour

Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Marketing Operations & Technology to coordinate multiple business and technology initiatives across Marketing Operations, digital platforms, analytics, and enterprise technology. This role bridges business priorities and technology delivery, ensuring projects are aligned with organizational objectives, timelines, resources, dependencies, and measurable business outcomes.

The Project Manager will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, analytics, technology leaders, and external vendors to develop integrated project roadmaps, manage risks and dependencies, maintain governance, and drive accountability across concurrent initiatives. The role also supports technology readiness, data and metadata governance, change management, and continuous improvement across interconnected marketing platforms.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management fundamentals with technology fluency, stakeholder management, and structured delivery oversight. They can navigate complex environments, translate technical challenges into business impacts, facilitate decisions, and move initiatives forward without direct authority over all delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery Management
  • Translate business objectives into actionable project plans, milestones, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain integrated roadmaps covering timelines, sequencing, resource requirements, cross-platform dependencies, and delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate project priorities, demand, and capacity planning across Marketing, Digital, Product, Analytics, Enterprise Technology, and vendor teams.
  • Facilitate project planning and status reviews, assessing priorities based on business value, readiness, risk, dependencies, and resource availability.
  • Monitor progress against milestones, identify delivery blockers, coordinate resolution, and elevate issues requiring leadership decisions.
  • Manage scope changes, competing priorities, and cross-project dependencies to support predictable delivery.
Project Governance & Risk Management
  • Maintain centralized project documentation covering objectives, scope, priorities, assumptions, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, approvals, and expected business outcomes.
  • Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), action trackers, decision logs, and escalation records.
  • Establish clear ownership, responsibilities, governance requirements, and approval pathways across project workstreams.
  • Document decision rationale, accountable approvers, business impacts, and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare leadership updates on project health, milestone confidence, delivery risks, resource constraints, and decisions required.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand project scope, ownership, governance expectations, and the implications of proposed changes.
Technology Delivery & Vendor Coordination
  • Partner with business, technology, and vendor leads to define deliverables, acceptance criteria, milestones, estimates, resource commitments, and accountable owners.
  • Coordinate technology readiness across business requirements, solution alignment, system integrations, data dependencies, testing, access, approvals, and release planning.
  • Track vendor and internal team commitments, identify delivery gaps, and communicate schedule, scope, or resource impacts.
  • Translate technical challenges and proposed changes into clear business implications, options, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate dependencies across interconnected platforms while maintaining accountability with designated technical and delivery owners.
  • Support operational handoffs to ensure appropriate documentation, support readiness, and business continuity.
Technology, Data & Metadata Governance
  • Coordinate documentation and adoption of platform ownership, technology lifecycle practices, data definitions, quality standards, and stewardship responsibilities.
  • Support metadata governance, taxonomy management, digital asset lifecycle processes, and information management practices.
  • Facilitate governance reviews with architecture, security, risk, compliance, and data stakeholders.
  • Track approval requirements, outstanding conditions, and their impact on project schedules and operational readiness.
  • Promote consistent workflows, access requirements, change-control practices, and governance standards across connected platforms.
Change Management & Stakeholder Communication
  • Develop and coordinate communication, training, and adoption plans for technology projects and process improvements.
  • Partner with business and platform owners to assess organizational readiness, adoption barriers, and competing release schedules.
  • Coordinate stakeholder updates, training resources, support plans, and release readiness activities.
  • Monitor adoption feedback and identify opportunities to improve implementation success and sustained technology usage.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, decisions, and next steps clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Project Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish project reporting practices to monitor milestone progress, delivery confidence, dependencies, resource constraints, and expected business outcomes.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to define success measures, establish baselines, and track performance against agreed targets.
  • Coordinate improvement plans for recurring platform, workflow, access, and service issues affecting business operations.
  • Identify legacy dependencies, duplicated capabilities, process inefficiencies, and technology lifecycle risks.
  • Coordinate improvement and transition plans with platform owners, considering delivery sequencing, support readiness, and business continuity.
  • Capture lessons learned and implement repeatable project management, governance, and operational improvement practices.
Required Skills/Education
  • Project Management Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, or technology delivery, including coordination of multiple concurrent business and technology initiatives.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Demonstrated experience developing project plans and integrated roadmaps, managing milestones, coordinating resources, and tracking deliverables across cross-functional teams.
