Job summary

Cape Associates, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to estimate, plan, coordinate, and deliver small residential and light commercial projects up to $200,000.

You will be the primary client contact, managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field staff to ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Projects range from Plymouth to Provincetown; you will oversee crews, prepare documentation, and drive billing and reporting for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in residential remodeling, repair or small construction projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish with strong budgeting skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction means & methods, and project sequencing.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Buildertrend, Foundation, Work Max or similar) and MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Preferred OSHA10 or OSHA30 certification; Massachusetts CSL or willingness to obtain within one year.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience strongly considered.

  • Manage projects from estimating and pre-construction through construction and closeout, including budgets, schedules, change orders, permits, and correspondence.
  • Generate timely billing, cost reports, and progress updates for senior management.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout all phases of the project.
  • Pursue, estimate, and secure new projects up to $200,000; support leadership with forecasting and business development.
  • Provide mentorship and uphold Safety, Quality Craftsmanship, and Operational Excellence.

Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for estimating, planning, coordinating, & successfully delivering smaller residential & light commercial construction projects, valuing up to $200,000 per project.

This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients & is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, & field personnel to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, & to the highest standards of quality & customer satisfaction. Project locations will range from Plymouth to Provincetown.

Responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Execution Manage all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, & schedule expectations. Oversee multiple crews (typically 3?6 employees total) & subcontractors to ensure efficiency, productivity, & safety on-site. Manage assigned projects from estimating & pre-construction through construction & closeout, ensuring successful project outcomes. Prepare & manage project documentation, including budgets, schedules, proposals, change orders, permits, & project correspondence. Generate timely & accurate billing, cost reports, & progress updates for senior management.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients & project stakeholders throughout all phases of the project. Build, nurture, & maintain strong relationships with existing clients while continually expanding your professional network. Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction & communication transparency throughout each project.

Sales & Business Development

Pursue, estimate, & secure new projects in alignment with company goals, valuing up to $200,000 per project. Support leadership with project forecasting, staffing projections, & business development initiatives. Promote the Cape Associates brand & reputation through professional interactions & community engagement.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

Provide mentorship, oversight, & development for assigned staff members & field crews. Maintain a strong commitment to Safety, Quality Craftsmanship, & Operational Excellence.

Qualifications

Required: Minimum 3 years of project management experience in residential remodeling, repair or small construction projects. Ability to interpret construction drawings & specifications. Exceptional organizational skills & attention to detail. Excellent communication & interpersonal abilities, with a customer-first mindset. Proven track record of successfully managing projects while meeting budget, schedule, & client satisfaction goals. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Buildertrend, Foundation, Work Max or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, & scheduling tools. Valid driver\?s license & reliable transportation. Preferred: OSHA10 or OSHA30 certification preferred. Massachusetts Construction Supervisor\?s License (CSL), or willingness to obtain within one year of hire Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience strongly considered.

Physical Requirements

This is largely a sitting role; however, some standing & movement is required. This includes the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets & bend or stand as necessary. Occasionally, heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may.
