Job summary

Amcor Erie Tool Shop is seeking a Tooling Manager to lead internal and external projects from planning through completion. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and on-time delivery while coordinating across engineering, tooling, and production teams.

You will define scopes, manage budgets, and maintain close communication with customers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and improvements are realized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Project Management, or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with customers, suppliers, and leadership.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage quoting systems to ensure quote accuracy, version control, pricing consistency, and timely responses to customer requests.
• Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand project requirements, technical specifications, timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
• Develop quotes and project estimates using historical performance data with engineering, tooling, and production teams.
• Define project scope and objectives at launch and ensure work progresses according to customer requirements, budget, and capabilities.
• Develop, communicate, and maintain project timelines with milestones, deliverables, and resource needs.
• Monitor progress through manufacturing phases, identify risks, delays, and constraints to maintain schedule.
• Assist with troubleshooting by coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve production, tooling, quality, scheduling issues.
• Manage project budgets and costs to support profitability and objectives.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers and stakeholders, providing status updates and addressing concerns.
• Analyze project performance and lessons learned to drive future improvements.
