Job summary

Amcor Flexibles North America is seeking a qualified engineer to develop, direct and coordinate projects that involve mechanical and electrical components. The role emphasizes safety leadership and close collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

You will manage project scope, costs and scheduling, while interfacing with customers and plants to ensure on-time delivery and quality. Travel up to 10% and on-call support during go-lives are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field (BSEE, BSME, BSET, or BEMT) with 1–6 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing processes and tools.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and support onsite 24/7 on-call during go-lives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, direct and coordinate projects for Amcor Flexibles North America, involving mechanical and electrical components.
  • Act as safety leader by following all safety rules and promoting safety programs.
  • Coordinate engineering package and project documentation; handle purchasing services and vendor communication.

Demonstrates safety leadership by complying with all safety rules, policies, regulations and procedures; participating in safety programs, and encouraging employee involvement from all employees in all safety activities. Supports all written safety programs and safety training.Determines customer’s needs by identifying problems and safety concerns. Develop and evaluate alternate solutions to narrow down and define project scope.Coordinates, prepares and/or assembles the engineering package/project documentation for each assigned project.Provides the purchasing services for project materials required. This includes: reviewing potential vendors, contact with vendors, coordinating with the Purchasing Department, issuing purchase orders, some price negotiation, and expediting delivery.Coordinates project costs, project scheduling, and supplying pertinent communication for projects that may vary in terms of scope and responsibilities.Determine materials required for each project including reviewing potential vendors, issuing purchase requisitions and expediting delivery when necessaryInterfaces with people, departments, and/or companies to ensure that equipment is safe, made on schedule and to specificationCoordinates or assists with installation, checkout, start-up and training as necessary.Provides engineering support and troubleshooting to the plant when machine breakdown issues cannot be solved by maintenance.Actively participates on Continuous Improvement projects and leads teams as requested.WHAT WE VALUETechnical Expertise: Demonstrates growing knowledge of engineering standards and shows ability to apply concepts and theories to resolve increasingly complex issues.
