Job summary

Amcor in California is seeking a seasoned shift supervisor to oversee production crews, enforce safety rules, and maintain high quality standards across the line. You will monitor performance and coach staff to meet daily targets.

You will lead safety programs, coordinate training, and report daily performance to the Technical Manager while ensuring efficient use of materials and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership with ability to coach and develop a manufacturing team.
  • Experience implementing safety practices and leading safety meetings.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise shift production employees and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Lead risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate training, performance reviews, and employee development.
  • Maintain production records and reporting to management.

Operates the factory within all safety regulations, quality standards and maintain production standards as efficiently as possible. Adheres to good housekeeping and assumes responsibility for the entire facility in the absence of the Technical Manager. Maintains the highest standard of professionalism and a positive attitude while handling multiple tasks and priorities.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and providing clear, consistent communication of safe work expectationsSupports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable lawsActively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risksLead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough mannerEnsures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsibleSets goals for their organizational unit;
