Job summary

TYG, a well-established general contractor in Virginia, seeks Project Managers or Senior Project Managers with live data center experience to lead mission-critical live-site projects—retrofits and infrastructure changes.

You will coordinate schedules around shutdowns, manage subcontractors, ensure safety and compliance, review budgets and invoices, and contribute to constructibility planning and pre-construction strategy. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction Project Management experience.
• Experience working for a General Contractor, Mechanical Contractor or Electrical Contractor.
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate, as both may be required.
• Experience managing subcontractors and trade partners.
• Comfortable managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders and project financials.
• Experience working on large, technically complex construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Leading high value live data center projects from start through closeout.
• Coordinate work schedules around operational constraints, planned shutdowns and critical infrastructure needs.
• Managing subcontractor coordination and maintaining strong relationships with owners and stakeholders.
• Overseeing compliance, schedules and documentation.
• Conducting site visits and ensuring a safe, efficient and collaborative project environment.
• Review projections, labor reports, safety documents and schedules on a monthly basis.
• Contribute to constructibility reviews, phasing strategies and pre-construction planning.
• Spot potential project risks early and develop plans to address them before they elevate.
• Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budget.

We are working with a well-established General Contractor looking to add Project Managers to their mission critical team in Virginia. The client is looking to bring on either Project Managers or Senior Project Managers with experience in the live Data Center space.

This team is specific to projects inside existing, live data centers which includes retrofits and infrastructure modifications.

• Live Data Center work/ Live operation facility/ Retrofit experience. This experience is preferred but also open to candidates who have managed construction within hospitals or other industrial facilities.
