ABB is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the Data Center's Smart Power initiative in North America. You will startup and lead all on-site activities for large, complex projects, ensuring cost-effective execution per contract specifications, quality, schedule and safety during start-up, construction, erection and commissioning.

The role reports to the Senior Project Manager and requires managing on-site presence across multiple sites, coordinating teams, subcontractors, and resources

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; PMP cert/experience considered in lieu.
• 10+ years in project/construction management, data center or large-scale construction preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of time.
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of UPS, STS and PDU commissioning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site activities for large/complex project sites to ensure cost-effective execution per contract, quality, schedule and safety standards.
• Manage ABB technicians and subcontractors across multiple sites to meet delivery dates and standards.
• Plan on-site activities with Site Team including resources, equipment and milestones.
• Manage on-site budget to meet margin targets.
• Coordinate customer agreements and external resources on construction targets, safety and site policy.

This position reports to:

Senior Project Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support our rapidly growing Data Center's Smart Power. Startup and lead all on-site activities for large/complex project site work to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, and commissioning phase. Each day, you will manage on-site presence throughout the project, ensuring coordination and smooth execution of all work activities.

The work model for the role is #LI-remote

This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in North America.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Ensures detailed and up-to-date site Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place with respect to each work package, compliant with the ABB H&S plan.
• Manages the ABB technicians and sub-contractors across multiple sites to ensure necessary quality and progress achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards.
• Plans project on-site activities with Site Team including necessary local resources, equipment, an milestones.
• Manages budget for on-site activities ensuring margin targets are met.
• Coordinates agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization and policy.
• Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally, in alignment with the Service.
• Quality Manager to maintain good customer relationships.

Qualifications for the role

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. PMP certification and equivalent work. experience will be considered in place of Bachelor's degree.
• 10+ years of experience working in project and/or construction management or field service, (data center or large scale construction experience strongly preferred).
• Must be able to be available to travel up to an estimated 30% of the time.
• Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products.
• Strong understanding of UPS, STS and PDU equipment site commissioning is preferred.
• Candidate is expected to reside in one of the listed areas and regularly visit construction sites.
