Job summary

ABB is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support engineering activities for diverse project sizes in Mebane, NC. You will develop BOMs, create 3D models, and draft parts numbers for customer doors and panels, while coordinating with senior engineers to ensure specifications and safety standards are met.

You will use Creo/SolidWorks for 3D design, support ERP and PLM workflows, and contribute to design reviews, with familiarity in NEC/ANSI standards and a manufacturing environment focused on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 0–2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Proficient with AutoCAD (recent version) or equivalent CAD platform.
• CAD certification or degree preferred.
• Familiar with MS Office, SAP, Windchill and similar software.
• Experience with 3D design using Creo or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Release mechanical BOMs to ERP for assigned orders.

This position reports to

Engineering Supervisor

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. Develop BOMs (Bills of Materials) for assigned projects.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in Mebane, NC.

You will be mainly accountable for

• Release mechanical BOMs to ERP system for assigned orders.
• Create 3D models and drawings for new requisition special designs using Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent platforms.
• Create part numbers and drawings for customers’ doors and panels.
• Manage PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system and publish new designs.
• Utilize 3D modeling to design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to contractual specification.
• Creates or reviews engineering drawings, specifications and plans required by manufacturing, fabrication, or construction.
• Contributes to design reviews and design verification, modifies design, as necessary.

Qualifications For The Role

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field required.
• 0 - 2 or more years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Proficient with AutoCAD (recent version) or equivalent computer aided design platform. Computer Aided Design certification or degree.
• Familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP, Windchill and other applicable software.
• Experience with 3D design including use of Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent design platforms.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, specifically with steel or copper fabrication.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, specifically with steel or copper fabrication.
• Knowledge of ANSI Air Insulated Switchgear.
• Familiarity with NEC, ANSI, IEEE standards.
• Candidates already have work authorization to work in the US.
