Job summary

Interstate Assembly Systems in Surprise, AZ is seeking a Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safety, quality, and profitability. You will supervise planning, quality, and technical teams while building strong customer relationships and pursuing growth opportunities.

The role requires proven leadership in manufacturing, knowledge of operations, budgeting, and a track record in Lean/Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Minimum leadership experience in plant/production/operations management.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, planning, inventory and quality systems.
• Experience using financial metrics, budgeting and operational reporting.
• Background implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma or related methodologies.
• Proven leadership, team-building and employee development skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to travel occasionally as needed.

• Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity and profitability goals are achieved.


• Provide leadership and direction to production planning, materials engineering, support quality, warranty and technical teams.


• Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality and operational excellence.


• Monitor key operational and financial metrics to drive informed business decisions.


• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.


• Identify opportunities for business growth through diversification of products, services and customer markets.


• Drive accountability and performance through effective communication, coaching and employee development.


• Ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.


• Support strategic planning and execution to achieve branch and organizational objectives.


• Represent Interstate Assembly Systems within industry associations and community organizations.

What We’re Looking For - Required Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience as a Plant Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager or similar manufacturing leadership role.


• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory management and quality systems.


• Experience managing business performance through financial metrics, budgeting and operational reporting.


• Proven background implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma or related methodologies.


• Strong leadership, team building and employee development skills.


• Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving abilities.


• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Ability to travel occasionally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing or related field.


• Experience within metal fabrication, assembly, industrial manufacturing, truck equipment or heavy-duty vehicle industries.


• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
